HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Youth in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam

eSYS have been engaged to review the Asian Development Bank’s HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Youth project in Vietnam.
The goal of the Project was to contain the spread of HIV/AIDS among youth (below 25 years).
The purpose was to introduce changes in sexual and other high risk behavior among youth, targeting adolescent girls and boys,
young couples, and young pregnant women and their infants. The Project included
(i) review of HIV/AIDS risk factors and prevalence among youth,
(ii) an assessment of ongoing and planned HIV/AIDS activities, coordination, and monitoring,
(iii) identification of priorities in consultation with the Government, UNAIDS, and other donors,
(iv) in a participatory manner, in-depth assessment of target group perceptions and behavior,
(v) assessment of effectiveness of communication channels and support services,
(vi) preparation of a project proposal, and
(vii) preparation of an implementation plan.
