Ross McLeod part of evaluation team for 2012 review of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria Program in Georgia
Ross McLeod joined the evaluation team which will review the Georgia HIV program in late 2012. With 0.05% of the population infected, Georgia is a low HIV prevalence country. There is an emerging epidemic among MSM, there is a risk of a further rapid spread of HIV infection in the future due to the high prevalence of IV drug use, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and Hepatitis B and C; as well as the increased migration between Georgia and neighboring countries, such as Russia and Ukraine, which are now experiencing growing HIV epidemics.
