Ross McLeod joined the evaluation team which will review the Georgia HIV program in late 2012.
With 0.05% of the population infected, Georgia is a low HIV prevalence country.
There is an emerging epidemic among MSM, there is a risk of a further rapid spread of HIV infection
in the future due to the high prevalence of IV drug use, sexually transmitted infections (STIs),
and Hepatitis B and C; as well as the increased migration between Georgia and neighboring countries,
such as Russia and Ukraine, which are now experiencing growing HIV epidemics.
