eSYS Development has been contracted by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) to evaluate the Southeast Asia Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) Elimination Strategy.

This project will undertake a cost-benefit analysis of the regional FMD control program, combining epidemiological and economic modelling.

The assessment will use existing data on livestock production systems to estimate potential farmer benefits, including productivity gains and improved price margins from healthier herds.

Epidemiological modelling will quantify the impact of control measures on disease prevalence and productivity.

The findings will support OIE’s strategic decisions on the future direction and investment in FMD elimination across Southeast Asia.
